Cameroon Journal, Limbe – Achalle Denis Atem, a.k.a Starboy Achaley, who died July 27, in Limbe at the age of 30, will begin his final journey into eternity on Friday September 23, family sources have said.
Achaley’s mortal remains will be removed from the Limbe Regional Hospital Mortuary in the afternoon of September 23, a family member disclosed, adding that the corpse will be laid in state thereafter at the deceased’s grandfather (Late Pa Valentine Bende)’s house at Cassava Farms Limbe; where Achalle grew up. Achaley’s corpse will also be laid same day at Community Field for public viewing.
Going by a definitive funeral programme we obtained, on Saturday September 24, Achaley’s corpse will be taken to Catholic Church New Town Limbe for a requiem mass. Burial is scheduled to take place immediately after the holy mass.
In the meantime, the deceased’s mother, Prudence Wasso has called on musicians wishing to sing tribute to Achalle during the public viewing at Limbe community field on Friday Sept 23 to get in touch with Emil Ngumbah of M1 Studio Buea.
It should be recalled that though reports indicated Achalle, popularly known for his hit songs, “Insecure”, “Tous vers Jesus” “Bunya” and his latest Album “Ebolo”, died of Liver Cancer at the Limbe Regional Hospital, his mother, in a video, insinuated that he died of sexual abuse related suffering.
In the video she warns; “I’m talking to you, people that messed up his life. You abused him and messed up his life and that is how he has been suffering and suffering till today that he is dead… I am talking to all of you who took advantage of him when he was a little boy. Nothing is hidden under the son, and Achalle told me.”
