(Business in Cameroon) – The French Customs services announced this past Friday, in an official communiqué, having seized a record 51 Kg of methamphetamines at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport. Which makes it, the communiqué highlights, “the largest medicine haul on French soil”.
The drug en route to Malaysia, we learn, was hidden in boxes full of plastic bags officially containing cereals from Yaoundé, the Cameroonian capital.
While checking this cargo, the communiqué specifies, the attention of the French Customs officers was drawn to the “exceptionally” heavy weight of two boxes in which were finally “discovered methamphetamines crystals wrapped in aluminium sheet”. The drug thus seized, according to the estimates of the French Customs, has “a street value of approximately 3.8 million Euros (USD 4.26 million)”, corresponding to a little over FCfa 2 bilion. BRM
