Cameroon Journal, Maroua – Two female Boko Haram suicide bombers have blown themselves up near a school in Mora in the Far North Region of the country.

The two suspected bombers reportedly detonated their explosives after they were spotted by members of a local vigilante committee on a routine patrol.

L’Oeil du Sahel, a French tri-weekly tabloid reported that the suicide attack occurred behind a high school full of students on Monday morning, but luckily, only the terrorists were killed, the newspaper said.

In December 2016, at least three persons were killed in the same town of Mora following a similar suicide attack.

In February, Amnesty International revealed that Boko Haram had killed 260 civilians in 150 attacks in 2016, mostly in communities in Far North Region.

In the meantime, official statistics indicate that at least 150 soldiers and policemen have been killed while fighting Boko Haram in Cameroon and about 2,000 civilians have been murdered there in over 500 attacks, including more than 50 suicide bombings, by those President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria had branded the “godless, mindless” militants.
